WordPress Themes

This page will include information about each of the WordPress themes that are other possible choices for the Sheridan Libraries Blog. I will list the theme, whether or not the plugins for a Random Header Image and Reverse Order of Comments will work with them. I will also answer the questions that Beth asked in her email regarding each of the themes.

Blix – This theme is not set to work correctly in WordPress v. 2.1

Q: We want to make sure that we can include the author for each post ( I think this is a WordPress setting, but we want to be sure)?
A: Yes, this is an edit that is required in the index.php file.
Can we remove About and add Meta and Archives on the side?
Please let us know if RSS feeds can be posted next to the categories.

Abstrakt (download link: http://www.kaushalsheth.com/themes/)

Both the Random Header Image and the Reverse Order of Comments Plugins work with this theme.
Q: We are concerned about the clutter in the right column and just want to make sure that we can remove all the stuff at the top that we don't need (e.g. navigation, sponsors, subscribe)?
A: All of the "clutter" in the right column can be removed.

Q: Please let us know if RSS feeds can be posted next to the categories.
A: RSS feeds can not be automatically included next to the categories.

Pool (download link: http://www.lamateporunyogur.net/pool/#english)

Both the Random Header Image and the Reverse Order of Comments Plugins work with this theme.
Q: Can we include the author for each post?
A: Yes, I have edited the index.php file for the template to add this information to each post.
Q: Can we edit the righthand column (sidebar) to meet our needs?
A: Yes, with some limitations.
Q: Can we remove the numbers next to the rss links and archives?
A: Yes, I have already done that.

We put this last because we can't see the details of the page in the screen shot.
Consider all of the same concerns as above if applicable.
